Retroactive increase of your electricity bill

As the "Conseil d’Etat" cancelled a ministerial decree on the limitation of increase of regulated tariffs,  EDF, the main electricity provider in France, will have to apply an increase of 1.50 € per months during 18 months to all clients.

The government will also have to plan a new text to fix another retroactive increase of the tariff for the period from 1st November 2014 to 31 July 2015. On its side, EDF is planning a global increase of the prices of 2.5 % between 2016 and 2019.

Increase of regulated gas tariffs

As from 1st July 2016, regulated gas tariffs go up on average by 0,4% for the 6 000 000 clients of ENGIE :

Rates go up according to the use of the gas, as follows :

  • 0,3% for households using gas for heating;
  • 1,9% for households using gas for cooking purposes;
  • 1,3% for househols using gas for cooking purposes AND hot water production.
