...no longer to remain unpunished
Speeding, drink driving offence, seat belt unfastened, read light
violation… traffic offences committed abroad in the European Union
shall not remain without punishment any longer.
In fact, a draft directive has been proposed by the European Commission to stop the impunity of drivers committing traffic offences abroad.
Creating an information exchange network would help national traffic authorities to identify foreign vehicles by their registration documents. Authorities would then be able to send notices of violation to the drivers, even if the vehicle is registered abroad.
