..on the rights of energy consumers
An own generated report by the socialist MEP Mia de Vits on "Toward a European Charter on the rights of energy Consumers" has been adopted by a very wide majority.
The report "stresses the fact that energy supply is a key element for the successful participation of citizens in socail and economic life" and "calls on the Member states to ensure that the consumer is able to switch easily and within a period that does not exceed one month, to a new supplier, free of charge".
